SKY Express kicked off the summer with strong May Day weekend performance, posting an 80% average load factor from April 30 to May 3. Passenger traffic rose 3.5% on domestic routes and 18.5% internationally versus the same period last year.

Top domestic spots were Santorini, Heraklion and Thessaloniki, while abroad Amsterdam, Milan and Lisbon led. Lisbon, a new addition to the international network, has already drawn strong response.

The Heraklion-based carrier serves Greece’s largest domestic network with 33 points, including Cyclades, Dodecanese, Eastern Aegean and Ionian islands. In 2024, it carried 5 million passengers, with fleet average age at 3.5 years for Airbus and 2.5 for ATRs.

International growth has been explosive: Q1 2025 saw 27% traffic rise, Q2 33%. New 2025 routes include Berlin, Hamburg, Madrid, Tel Aviv, Lyon and Düsseldorf. 2024 revenue hit €478 million, up 22%.

SKY Express operates 27 aircraft, with two more A320neos due in 2025. Chief Commercial Officer Gerasimos Skaltsas said international expansion is key for the airline, outpacing Athens airport growth.
