Energy group PPC has agreed to acquire Romanian electronics and home appliances retailer Flanco through its wholly owned subsidiary Kotsovolos, in a transaction valuing the business at €35 million.

The deal will transfer 100% ownership from Iulian Stanciu, who holds 98%, and Flanco CEO Dragoș Sîrbu, who owns the remaining 2%. Completion is expected by the end of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals, including clearance from Romania’s Competition Council.

Announced on November 3, the acquisition will give Kotsovolos an established presence in Romania’s €3.6 billion technology and electrical goods market, extending PPC’s retail strategy beyond Greece.

The €35 million figure represents the transaction’s enterprise value rather than necessarily the final equity proceeds received by the sellers, which may be affected by financial adjustments at closing.

Flanco brings €269 million in annual revenue and 150 stores

Founded in 1994, Flanco operates 150 stores across more than 100 Romanian cities, making it the country’s second-largest omnichannel electronics and appliances retailer, according to PPC.

The company generates annual revenue of €269 million, employs more than 1,200 people and operates nearly 60,000 square metres of retail selling space. Its third-party logistics infrastructure covers 37,500 square metres, while its stores attract more than 14 million customer visits annually.

Flanco’s network reaches more than 55% of Romanian households, according to the companies. Physical stores continue to account for approximately 70% of sales in the Romanian electronics and electrical goods market.

PPC plans to sell energy products through Flanco’s retail network

PPC Romania intends to use Flanco’s stores and logistics infrastructure to distribute residential solar installations, heat pumps, electric vehicle charging equipment and smart energy management solutions.

The strategy also includes installation services, in-home technical support and bundled offerings combining appliances with energy supply contracts. The approach builds on PPC’s existing cooperation with Kotsovolos in Greece, where the energy group has been developing an integrated retail and energy services model.

Flanco will retain its core electronics and appliances business, with energy products supplementing rather than replacing its existing range, according to Chief Executive Dragoș Sîrbu.
