Bolton Hellas marks 50 years in the market with record 2025 sales topping €39 million for the first time, up nearly 12% from €35.1 million in 2024. The company behind iconic brands like RIO Mare tuna, WC Net cleaners and Somatoline cosmetics also posted sharp profit gains.

Gross profits rose to €8.3 million with margins expanding to 21.1% from 18.9%, adding €1.66 million extra. EBIT nearly doubled to €1.39 million, pre-tax profits jumped 77% to €1.36 million and net profits climbed 71% to €965,000.

Management credits better input costs versus selling prices for absorbing higher operating expenses. Advertising spend surged 42% to €1.98 million, driving total sales costs up 19%.

For the first time in a decade, Bolton Hellas booked €1.53 million in export sales, including a €1.05 million guarantee to Cyprus supermarket chain Spinneys. Admin costs rose a milder 5.6% to €3.29 million.

Thessaloniki roots

The group’s founder was Joseph Joe Nissim, a Thessaloniki-born Greek Jew who fought at El Alamein before building a €3.5 billion empire across 150 countries with 60+ brands and 11,000 employees. Honored posthumously with Greece’s Star of Valor in 2019, he passed at 100.
