Canadian quick-service restaurant chain Jimmy The Greek has announced a multi-year partnership with Major League Soccer’s Toronto FC. The partnership is also part of a broader strategy of Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE) to deepen community ties.

The collaboration, rooted in shared values of community, tradition, and passion, will see Jimmy The Greek become the first-ever presenting partner of the pre-match player walkout ceremonies during regular season home games.

Founded in 1985 with its first location in downtown Toronto, Jimmy The Greek has grown to over 55 locations across Canada. The brand recently expanded its business model with the introduction of its first dine-in concept in 2024.

Founded by Greek immigrants

In 1977, Greek immigrants Dimitrios ”Jimmy” Antonopoulos and his wife, Helen Antonopoulos, laid the foundation for what would become one of Canada’s most recognized restaurant chains with the opening of their fine-dining establishment, Epikourion.

The couple, recognizing a growing demand for quick, high-quality meal options, pivoted in 1985 to introduce Jimmy The Greek, a quick-service restaurant offering freshly prepared, home-cooked meals with the signature Greek hospitality.
