Conrad Athens The Ilisian is off to a strong start, with occupancy already above 50% and the first conference events booked. The launch marks the first Conrad Hotels & Resorts property in Greece and the latest phase in the transformation of the former Hilton Athens.
The hotel has 278 rooms and suites, many with private balconies and views of the city and the Acropolis, while higher-end accommodations include Presidential and Royal suites. An Omega Penthouse of 350 square meters, with outdoor space and a private pool, is scheduled to open later this year.
The wider complex is being activated gradually, with the main entrance already open and commercial units expected to follow in the coming days. The project also includes 18 Conrad Residences and 37 Waldorf Astoria Residences, which will offer both short and longer stays.
The investment stands at around €340 million, with TEMES and the Olayan Group saying the budget increase was planned early because of the decision to rebuild the property almost from scratch.
An Athens urban resort
The Ilisian is being positioned as a multi-use urban resort rather than a standard hotel, with up to 10 restaurants and dining concepts planned through the end of 2026. The Athenian Lounge is already operating, as the Galaxy rooftop is set to return in the coming months.
Wellness is another major pillar, with more than 2,000 square meters of spa and fitness space, including the city center’s largest outdoor pool. House of NYNN, the private members’ club, began operating in summer 2025 and is now part of the destination’s broader lifestyle offer.
