IndiGo, India’s leading airline, has officially launched direct flights between Mumbai and Athens, marking its long-haul debut with a narrow-body aircraft and the first commercial deployment in India of the Airbus A321XLR.

Starting January 24, 2026, IndiGo will also connect Delhi with Athens, using the same aircraft type. With these new routes, IndiGo becomes the first Indian airline to operate direct scheduled flights between India and Greece, offering three weekly frequencies per route.

In addition, through IndiGo’s codeshare partnership with AEGEAN (subject to regulatory approvals), Indian passengers traveling to Athens will benefit from seamless onward connections to destinations across Europe and the Greek islands.

IndiGo’s Airbus A321XLR features a two-class configuration, with 12 IndiGoStretch seats and 183 Economy Class seats. Passengers enjoy complimentary hot meals and beverages, and a next-generation digital inflight entertainment platform.
