Fraport Greece reported solid growth in passenger traffic in December 2025 and across the full year, confirming the continued upward momentum of regional airports and their growing contribution to tourism and the national economy.
In December alone, the 14 regional airports managed by Fraport Greece handled more than 881,000 passengers, representing a 9.4% increase compared with the same month in 2024.
Full-year traffic tops 37 million passengers
The strong December figures capped a positive year for Fraport in Greece. In 2025, total passenger traffic across its airport network exceeded 37 million travelers, up 3% year-on-year.
Domestic flights increased by 1.1% to 86,971, while international flights rose by 3.2% to 196,382. Overall flight movements, combining domestic and international traffic, grew by 2.5%.
Thessaloniki and Rhodes stand out
Among individual airports, passenger traffic at Thessaloniki Airport “Macedonia” rose by 10.7% in December, adding roughly 56,000 travelers and bringing the monthly total to 580,267 passengers. For the full year, passenger traffic at Thessaloniki climbed by 8.2%, reaching 7.98 million passengers.
Rhodes Airport “Diagoras” also delivered a strong performance. Passenger numbers surpassed 7 million in 2025, marking a 2.5% increase compared with the previous year. December traffic rose by 8.4%, totaling 72,624 passengers.
