Uber has announced a new pickup point for passengers at Athens International Airport (AIA), aiming to improve the transportation experience for travelers arriving in the Greek capital.
Effective May 1st, 2025, all Uber pickups at the airport will be conducted from Exit 4 on the arrivals level, replacing the previous pickup points at Exits 1 and 5.
In the first quarter of 2025 alone, Athens International Airportt served 5.8 million passengers, an 11.4% increase compared to the same period in 2024. International passenger traffic saw a rise of 15%, further cementing Athens’ position as a growing international travel hub.
Uber first launched in Greece in 2014, initially offering its services in Athens. It expanded to other major Greek cities later, including Thessaloniki. In 2018 it was required to suspend its ride-sharing service temporarily, due to legal issues surrounding ride-hailing laws, and re-entered the market later.
An Uber ride from Athens International Airport (ATH) to the city center typically costs between €40 and €60, depending on the time of day, traffic conditions, and the type of service selected. This fare is consistent with standard taxi rates in Athens.
