Local stores in these regions posted an 18% turnover increase and 17% order growth versus 2024, underscoring the rise of smaller cities and islands as e-commerce powerhouses.
Trikala leads turnover surge, Arta tops orders
Trikala was first in sales growth, with local merchants surging 106% in turnover. Arta’s stores led order volume at +78%, followed by Pella (+52%). On the islands, Corfu jumped 60%, Samos 57%, and Zakynthos 28%.
Provincial order destinations were led by Cyclades and Achaea (6% each of non-metro volume), Dodecanese and Heraklion (5% each), Magnesia and Evia (4% each), Chania (3.5%), and Larissa, Kavala, Corinth (3% each).
Phones, cases, and dietary supplements top the charts across all regional units. Delivery times averaged 2 working days on the mainland and 3 on islands. Even remote spots like Evrytania and Grevena averaged 1.7 days.
