Greek biscuit maker E.I. Papadopoulos is preparing a major expansion of its Volos production facility. The project, budgeted at €59,588,953.74, is currently under public consultation as part of the process for inclusion under Greece’s strategic investments framework.

The investment concerns the existing plant in the Diminio community within the first industrial zone of Volos. The factory has been operating since 1979 on company-owned land, and the expansion plans call for new buildings within the current site to enlarge both production and storage space.

The Volos plant is one of Papadopoulos’ key production bases, alongside facilities in Athens, Thessaloniki and Oinofyta. The Volos site covers 5,500 sq. m and employs 307 workers.

More than 5,000 tons of the company’s well-known wafer rolls, Caprice, are produced and packaged there each year. The product is one of Papadopoulos’ most recognizable brands and arguably its strongest export asset.
