According to the “FWD Greece: Innovation Pulse 2025–2026” study by Found.ation, more than €732 million were invested in over 90 startups during 2025, marking a 35% increase compared with 2024.
The year was dominated by Spotawheel, which raised a total of €300 million in combined equity and venture debt financing. Digital health also made a strong showing, with Numan securing €52 million to expand its chronic care management platform.
In proptech, Huspy continued its growth trajectory, raising €48.41 million to further develop its digital real estate solutions. The foodtech sector was represented by Stiq, which raised €35 million, while Achira, operating in deep tech, secured €31.4 million.
Fintech also maintained a solid presence, with Natech raising €28.14 million and Plum attracting €17.37 million. Notably, Delian Alliance Industries marked a clear shift toward defence tech, securing €12.13 million and signaling growing investor interest in the sector.
In artificial intelligence, Nodes & Links raised approximately $12 million. Co-founded by Dr. Christos Ellinas, the company develops AI-driven solutions for managing large-scale infrastructure projects.
Meanwhile, PolyModels Hub, co-founded by Haris Christodoulou, completed a $9 million Series A round, focusing on AI tools designed to accelerate drug discovery.
Smaller deals, strategic depth
Among the smaller funding rounds, Wealthyhood stood out, raising €3.6 million. The UK-based company with Greek founders announced in the summer that its investment app would become available to Greek users.
Cybersecurity startup Mind The Hack raised €2.8 million, while Billys secured €2.1 million in the property management space. Bitloops raised around €1 million to develop AI tools for developers, and Koios Care attracted €1 million in digital health funding.
Free-floating car-sharing startup Caroo closed a second funding round of €600,000, while agritech company Edencore Technologies completed a €900,000 seed round. Deep-tech startup PhosPrint, a pioneer in laser in vivo bioprinting for regenerative medicine, announced a €500,000 investment, with participation from Lars Rasmussen.
Startups with Greek DNA on the global stage
Equally striking was the performance of startups with Greek DNA operating abroad, many of which attracted landmark funding rounds. Reflection AI, co-founded by Ioannis Antonoglou, raised a staggering $2 billion in a round led by Nvidia, reaching a valuation of $8 billion.
In defence technology, Saronic Technologies, co-founded by Dinos Mavroukas, raised $600 million, while generative AI company Runway, co-founded by Anastasios Germanidis, secured $308 million in 2025. Enterprise software also stood out, with Teamworks, founded by Zack Mavrides, raising $235 million and surpassing a $1 billion valuation.
In biotech, Actithera, founded by Andreas Goutopoulos, secured $75.5 million to develop next-generation radiopharmaceuticals. RoomPriceGenie, co-founded by Aris Andrikopoulos, raised approximately $75 million to expand its dynamic pricing solutions for hotels. At the same time, Endor Labs raised a new funding round of $93 million.
Brainomix, co-founded by Dr. Michalis Papadopoulos, attracted $18 million to further commercialize its AI-powered stroke imaging tools, while healthcare automation platform Keragon, co-founded by Konstantinos Christou and Giorgos Irakleous, secured a $7.5 million seed round.
Insurance-tech company Comulate, co-founded by Michalis Matthaiakis, raised $20 million, leveraging AI to transform the insurance industry. Gradient Labs, co-founded by Danae Antoniou, secured $13 million to develop an AI-driven customer service platform for financial institutions, while Typedef, co-founded by Kostas Pardalis, raised $5.5 million to simplify AI model management and deployment.
Developer-focused startup Unblocked, founded by Dennis Pilarinos, raised $20 million in a Series A round, aiming to help developers better understand complex codebases. In data-driven infrastructure, VODA.ai closed a $10 million funding round, focusing on AI-powered critical infrastructure management, while Goodpath, co-founded by Bill Giannoukos, raised $18 million to expand its digital health platform.
Finally, fintech startup Clove, co-founded by Greek-Cypriot Alex Loizou, raised €12 million in pre-seed funding, while Pod Network, a Web3 startup with Greek founders, secured $10 million.
