Pavăl Holding, the investment vehicle behind Romanian DIY leader Dedeman, has acquired Praktiker Hellas, the largest home improvement retailer in Greece. This move marks Dedeman’s first step outside Romania.

Praktiker Hellas operates a nationwide network of 17 physical stores, an e-commerce platform, and employs approximately 1,200 people. The retailer offers a portfolio of over 50,000 products and services.

As part of the transaction, Pavăl Holding has also signed a preliminary notarial agreement with Eurobank for the purchase of the properties currently leased by Praktiker Hellas. This deal is expected to enhance operational stability and secure long-term presence in the Greek market.

We are proud that a 100% Romanian brand is crossing borders and carrying forward the values that have always guided us: respect for people, honest work, and team spirit

Dragoș Pavăl, Chairman of Dedeman

Dedeman, founded in 1992 by brothers Dragoș and Adrian Pavăl, has grown into Romania’s largest home improvement retailer. The company currently operates 64 stores, 5 logistics centers, and a robust online platform. With a workforce of over 13,500 employees, Dedeman posted a turnover of €2.65 billion in the previous fiscal year.
