JW Marriott Crete Resort & Spa, the brand’s first-ever beachfront property in the Mediterranean, has officially opened its doors in Marathi, just outside Chania. Managed by luxury hotel operator SWOT Hospitality, the resort offers 160 elegantly designed rooms, suites, and villas, most with private pools and jacuzzis, all overlooking the Aegean Sea.
Spanning more than 100 acres of unspoiled nature, the resort is designed in harmony with the landscape, blending modern minimalism with the cultural heritage of Crete. Designed by the architectural studio Block722, it features eco-conscious elements such as green roofs, olive and carob trees, and natural materials like marble and wood.
Our vision with JW Marriott is to offer immersive experiences rooted in wellness and local culture. This resort reflects that philosophy, inviting guests to relax, reflect, and reconnect

Gastronomy is a key pillar of the JW Marriott Crete experience, featuring six distinct dining and bar venues. At ANOEE, renowned chef Manolis Papoutsakis offers a modern tribute to Cretan cuisine through open-fire cooking and locally sourced ingredients. ONALOS specializes in freshly caught seafood, while CUCCAGNA channels the spirit of a cozy Italian trattoria.
The resort’s bar program, curated by the award-winning team behind Line, ranked No. 6 in The World’s 50 Best Bars, crafts signature cocktails using herbs from the resort’s own JW Garden at EEXIS and SUNCTI Pool Bar.
At the heart of the resort is ANOSEAS Spa, offering five treatment rooms, hydrotherapy rituals, and a holistic menu of wellness experiences combining traditional Cretan therapies with modern techniques.
