Smart-locker operator Box Now expects to close 2025 with €30 million in revenue, double last year’s figures, as parcel deliveries through automated lockers gain rapid traction across Greece.
The company, part of Emma Capital Group, has emerged as Greece’s largest player in the sector, operating 170,000 lockers across 2,150 locations nationwide. Box Now aims to expand its network to 200,000 lockers and 2,300 sites by the end of the year.
In 2024, Box Now posted €15.4 million in sales, up from €2.9 million in 2023, and turned operationally profitable in October 2024, a milestone that will fully reflect in its 2025 financial results.
Focus on core markets
Box Now plans to consolidate its presence in Greece, Cyprus, Bulgaria, and Croatia. Executives said during a closed briefing that Cyprus, with 13,000 lockers installed, has seen “unprecedented growth” over the past ten months.
Founded in May 2021, Box Now has invested over €40 million, with €28 million allocated to its Greek operations. The company operates nine logistics hubs, two in Athens and one each in Thessaloniki, Patras, Tripoli, Ioannina, Larissa, Kavala, and Heraklion.
Box Now’s network already covers key islands including Corfu, Lefkada, Salamina, Rhodes, Lesvos, Zakynthos, and Kefalonia, with upcoming expansion to Mykonos, Kos, Chios, Santorini, Tinos, and Syros.
The company now partners with over 6,500 businesses, including 1,500 added in the past year. In 2024, Box Now tripled parcel volumes and expanded its headcount to 300 employees across Greece and Cyprus, also tripling its workforce year-on-year.
Smart locker deliveries are on the rise
Currently, 30–40% of courier deliveries in Greece are made via smart lockers, a share expected to grow as consumers favor 24/7, contactless pickup options. In markets like Poland and Romania, locker deliveries reach 70%of total parcel volumes.
Alongside Box Now, Greece’s smart-locker landscape includes Skroutz and ACS. Skroutz operates 58,000 lockers across 1,962 locations, targeting 2,300 by 2026, while ACS runs 50,000 lockers in 1,200 spots, aiming to reach 60,000 this year and double that by 2026, according to Capital.gr data.
