Bianca Oliveira brings traditional Ashtanga Yoga to Bucharest for an intensive weekend workshop

For the first time in Romania, internationally acclaimed Ashtanga Yoga teacher Bianca Oliveira will lead an intensive 3-day workshop in Bucharest, offering yoga practitioners an opportunity to experience traditional Mysore-style practice and thematic yoga workshops.

Organized by Ashtanga Yoga Bucharest, the event marks a significant moment for the Romanian yoga community, positioning Bucharest as an emerging destination for advanced-level yoga education in Southeast Europe.

A deep dive into traditional Ashtanga Yoga

The workshop will unfold over the course of three days and includes five distinct sessions:

  • Friday, October 3 (18:00–20:00): Led Primary Series – a dynamic, instructor-guided session synchronizing breath and movement through the full Primary Series of Ashtanga Yoga.
  • Saturday, October 4 (09:00–11:00): Mysore-Style Practice & Q&A – an individualized, hands-on approach where students practice at their own pace, receiving personalized guidance from Bianca.
  • Saturday, October 4 (13:00–15:00): Core and Inversions Workshop – focused on developing internal strength, stability, and techniques for safe and graceful inversions.
  • Sunday, October 5 (09:00–11:00): Mysore-Style Practice – a continuation of the traditional method for deepening one’s personal practice.
  • Sunday, October 5 (12:30–14:30): Brave Heart Backbends Workshop – exploring flexibility, emotional openness, and foundational strength through backbending techniques and preparatory postures from the Intermediate Series.

A Teacher with Global Reach and Deep Roots

Originally from Brazil and now based in Poland, Bianca Oliveira took her first yoga class at age 18 and began studying in Mysore in 2015. She has assisted in Sharath Jois’s classes in India and holds certification in both Asana and Pranayama.

Bianca is an Authorized Level II teacher of Ashtanga Yoga, directly trained by Sharath Jois, the spiritual leader of the Ashtanga tradition in Mysore, India. With over a decade of dedicated practice and teaching, she has led workshops and retreats across the Americas, Europe, and Asia.
