AnimaWings launched direct Athens services from both Timișoara and Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Both routes began on April 5, operating twice a week, on Thursdays and Sundays, in the morning and early-day window.

The carrier says the flights are designed to make it easier for passengers to reach Athens and connect onward to the Greek islands on the same day, while offering a full-service product that includes Premium Economy and Economy cabins, free seat selection, an 8 kg cabin bag and a 4 kg personal item.

AnimaWings is also pushing ahead with more Greece capacity from Cluj, where Thessaloniki starts on June 2 and Zakynthos on June 5, extending the airline’s summer schedule beyond the Budapest route.

AnimaWings said in March that its sixth new aircraft had arrived directly from the factory and that two more Airbus A220-300s were expected in April, taking the airline further toward its target of 18 aircraft by the end of 2027.

The A220-300 allows the airline to fly short and medium-haul routes with a relatively modern, fuel-efficient aircraft that can also support the company’s premium positioning. The aircraft used on these new routes are configured with 148 economy seats.
